Now, I lied, it aint the BEST tank you'll see but its still a good one. Check it out!

12ga Biocube with three fish and a couple inverts in it.
I have a percula clown, a Firefish(flame/fire goby), and a Yellowtailed Damsel.
There is a small bubble coral and an extremely fast growing Xenia
I have 3 hermits, 3 snails, and one beautiful Flame shrimp (blood shrimp)
There are some polyps and pink coralline algae growing around the tank.
Lot of Halimade plants

Here are the pics of my tank!

Comments are appreciated. ;D

Ullooo, welcome to Fishlore. Sounds like you're getting another tank, and another, and another, ... Good luck with your starting case of multiple tank syndrome.

I'm not getting multiple tanks, just one other. I only plan on having two tanks, but my Biocube will be my quarintine tank once I get my 95ga.

LOL, I wish I could have that much!
I only have room for a tank no bigger than 95ga so that won't happen.

Oh, so you think WE have room? It's just a matter of revising your prioritites. Think of the biiig space wasters in your house. Who needs a dining room table or.... a bed?

exactly! as the MTS gets worse, you find yourself wondering what you can get rid of to make room for yet another tank!

Re: Newtankdude's Little 12ga Biocube!! Awsome!!

lol, the only thing were getting rid of is the piano because my cousin wants it and we don't need it. The space were the piano is is big enough for a 95ga but there's no electrical plug to plug in the pump and lights lol.

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

Don't even TEMPT me to get rid of my piano. I haven't touched it in months. I actually caught myself sizing it up for the space it would make up. Oooops, doing it again. That would be a niiiiice tank size.

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

Ha ha ha, sounds like you're making the right choice. Getting rid of your sax will barely be big enough for a 3G!

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

I think that the choice between a piano and a big tank is an easy one.. roll that piano onto the driveway and stick a for sale sign on it.. buy a nice tank setup with the money.

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

MTS? What's that?...... Oh yes, I remember.... it's having one tank that's not big enough...... then two tanks that's not big enough..... lol

That's how I started.... 2 goldfish from the fair...... last count....... I DUNNO ANY MORE! Only 16 tanks, all in my living/bedroom! Who cares about the finer things in life, like furniture! Build your own, with fish in mind, it worked for me!

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

I've had this tank for about 4 months now. Once I get my 95ga I'm changing it into a freshwater tank or a QT.

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

I must admit that I would love to go to saltwater, but not had the time or patience to source all the equipment and supplies it needs. One day I'll get round to it, but in the meantime, freshwater is keeping me occupied.

just a quick question though: I always thought that saltwater was very difficult to keep stable in small tanks, do you have to do a lot of maintenance on the biocube?

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

YES!!
The smaller the tank, the harder it is to maintain! I'm struggling with nitrates right now, and I constantly have to move things around to give them more space.
If you do a saltwater tank, I would suggest 30ga+.

Once I get my 95ga, I'm taking everything out of the Biocube and making it into a freshwatertank. Thatway I have two types of fish. ;D

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

You know the MTS  has really gotten out of hand NOT when you throw out the piano or other furnature, but when you build onto, or buy a new house to have enough room for all your tanks.

We have taken up two counters in the kitchen (who needs to cook!)   Now the stand project starts for the 125 gal.   But WHERE OH WHERE to put it.......The front wall could be moved out 20 ft.!   Something tells me we will move the book case on the outside wall first, and use styrofoam behind the tank first.

Newtankdude, I hope you have more will power than the rest of us!    When you get your new tank up, be sure to send pictures.

Yep, I'll send pics! But that won't happen for a while...the tank I want is $779 (95ga w/stand & light) and I have to pay for it myself....IM ONLY 13!!
lol
I've only saved about $150 in b-day money....that's enough for the 55ga I was lookin at a few days ago! lol

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

LOL ;D OK then why are you giving up on the piano? 13 is MUCH to young to say you won't be good at that! If I could give any advice, be a well rounded person, and there is more good to gain in learning the piano than just the music you produce! It will round out areas in your life you can't even imagine at your age!

Do MANY things, then when you get to the ripe old age of 50+ you can pick and choose the few that give you the most pleasure! MTS is not for the very young, because you don't need things like fish tanks to keep you tied down. I admire your folks for letting you jump into a hobby that many would worry THEY would end up taking care of, sounds like you are a committed young man, and have proved already that you are willing to take on responsibility! Best of Luck.

You've got the tank we want.. lol.. even some fish we want.. I have loved fire fish since we first saw one.. and I really want a pair of maroon clowns and a pair of anemone with some peppermint shrimp and a school of damsels.. plenty of live rock and live sand.. and a stocking mask and stick-up note to rob a bank to pay for it all. :

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

LOL, my science teacher got me into saltwater tanks. He had a 95ga and started a school club called tank tenders. I read in one of his fish books about the firefish and I fell inlove with it too! lol
I am committed to taking care of my tank. As of the piano, my sis plays it but I just can't get the hang of it. I love the sax though, I went through 3 sax's in one year! (My teacher made me learn alto, then tenor, then he let me play bari)

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

we were thinking of a 120 gallon tank so that we can get a lot of live rock and hopefully get our maroon clowns to breed - but probably after this year since we might be moving, are already breeding betta mahachaI and are probably going to work on a zebra pleco breeding project before our saltwater tank. I know the Saltwater tank takes a lot of work and want to at least have those Freshwater breeding projects going strong and have the time to give the Saltwater tank and the clowns and their anemones (if we're successful in getting them to host them) - especially in the startup stage.

I think with the way you build tanks, you may never see england again - with all the members here who'd want you to come and stay a while.

Could I bring all my tanks and fish with me? Imagine the challenge there! (Looked at moving to the states a couple of years ago, but the red tape is emense, so holiday, maybe, permanent, not likely I'm afraid!)

if you want to get in the US, just change your name to something mexican and the US gov't will not only forget the red tape, but give you bunches of money. the political correctness here makes it 'mean' to hold mexicans to the same rules as citizens of other countries such as England

Re: Newtankdude's Tank!! Check it out!

We have similar situations with people of Asian origin. They get anything they want, or else they take you to court and the court takes everything you have! (Please don't take offense anyone, I can't afford a court case now, spent too much on fishy things!)

We really should get off this thread! Sorry Newtankdude!

That could be arranged if your in Florida, lol. Na, I already know what I'm doing for my tank.

New pics coming soon. Possible around 8:00pm est.

Pics will be delayed, my sis is the one that knows how to load em on the computer and she won't do it right now.

If you compare the last pic I posted and the first ones, you can see that I took out the flat rock...this rock was like a magnet to slime algae.
