50 Gallon Tank Newly planted aquarium

Hey guys, how much light should a newly planted aquarium be getting? How frequently should fertilizer be added? I planted the plants about 2 days ago. I am currently doing 40-50% daily water changes. And have seachem flourish root tabs in the substrate. I also have liquid fertilizer at half the recommended dosage.
Here’s a picture I couldn’t really tell you the names of the plants as I don’t really know haha.

You could start out a small number like 6 hours and bump it up a hour until you start to see algae. I have my lights on during the times I am home on a timer.
What kind of liquid fert do you have? That will make a big difference on how much you use.

I also like to start with 6 hours of light for the first month, and then from there I’ll bump it up 30 minutes every week until I start to see algae issues, and scale accordingly. Also, if you don’t have any critters in the tank, water changes during the cycling process aren’t necessary just FYI.

This is my fertilizer. And okay 6 hours it is. Are the daily water changes needed? Would every other day be sufficient?
The tank is fully cycled. Has 3 juvenile angels and 9 rummy nose tetra. Used lots of old filter media from my other tanks

Good choice! I use thrive also. Just dose to the directions. You may need to adjust according to your numbers. Water changes i do 50% once a week. You just really need to go by your own numbers.

Every tank is different so you really can't say "use this much fertilizer!" "Keep your light on this long" It doesn't work that way....lol You just have to figure some things out by trial and error.

I see, makes sense though. Do you use snails in your tank? I have read a lot of people say snails help keep the plants clean by eating the decay and algae on plants.

How many do you have? Are they a good clean up crew?

Yes they are actually. I have 5 in my 55g and 2 in my 5g. They do not reproduce in freshwater also. They keep the glass and decor really clean, they dont really clean the plants as good as a pest snail though which breed like mad.
