Newly Cycled 55 Gallon Questions

HI Everyone, this is my first time posting on this forum and I am hoping to get some help.

Aquarium stats:
-55 gallon planted aquarium with fluval aquaclear 110 gallon (sponge + 2x 1in filter floss+ biomax) and the topfin 70 gal (provided media + biomax)
-12in bubbler (with Tetra whisper 60 gal)
-300W heater
-Substrate is a 1:1 ratio of river rock and flora max
-White LEDs

Aquarium Chemistry: (50% RO + 50% Tap, yes it is de-chlorinated using conditioner)
Temp: 80 F
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate: 5-10 ppm
pH: 7.6 - 7.7
GH: 10
KH: 4
*FULLY CYCLED-using pure ammonia

Fish:
-Electric Blue acara x 2 (2in)
-Angelfish x 4 (1.5-2in)
-Zebra Danio x 4 (1.5-2in)
-Bristlenose Pleco x 2 (3in + 1.5in)

Fish Behavior:
- No signs of aggression between any fish.

Questions:
1. I have just added 2 electric blue acara and 4 angelfish 1 day apart from each other. The electric blue acaras are staying in the bottom corner of the tank and not eating at all. I have tried to feed them sinking food as well with no success. One of the acaras is breathing quite rapidly and not very active. Should I quarantine the fish or wait a few days because the symptoms may be due to transport stress? I have purchased these fish from a highly rated LFS with great reviews. It has been 2 days.

2. One of the angels I had purchased (part of the 4 batch) died within 6 hours of being added to the tank. It was displaying signs of swim bladder diseases and I am quite confused. The LFS exchanged it for a new one. It was a 20$ koi angel. Do you guys think that was ill from the beginning for is it something else?

Thanks a head of time for the help!

When I got my Jewel Cichlid (less than 1" at the time), he did not eat for almost 2 weeks. He hid most of the time in between the rocks. I thought he died. Only after 2 weeks did he emerge for food. The record for my tank for newly introduced fish not eating was 1 month. Yes, it took one of my Cichlids that long to adjust to the new tank environment. I didn't think they'd last that long without food lol

1. If you just got the Electric Blue Acara Cichlids, it might take some time for them to adjust to their new environments (assuming there's no visible signs of illness or injury). I wouldn't move them to another tank again; might cause unnecessary stress.

2. No idea on the Angelfish. Too many factors. If they replaced that one with another one of equal value, then there's not much to go on about.

I hope this helps.

I forgot to mention. Your tank looks very similar to mine I had many years ago. I no longer have a tank setup like this anymore, but they look very similar. Coincidence?

Just to clear up what you said above.. Were the fish that you say you just bought in addition to acaras and angels that were already in the tank?

Thanks for the quick reply everyone!

Fitsoldier, it was a relief to read your response. I too am amazed your fish were able to not eat for such a long period of time. It is quite a coincidence your tank looks just like mine, same artificial driftwood, swords, and even the cave! Thanks for your advice.

Beneful, here is the order I added the fish to the tank:
1. Zebra danios (Day 1)
2. Blue acara + plecos (Day 8)
3. Angelfish (Day 9)

You have to really take time, like 60-90 minutes, to acclimate new fish before letting them into the tank. Angels can be quite fragile, look for larger ones, the older and larger, the more stable they are. They cost more mony because less of them make it to that size at the breeders. But its worth it.

Fyi, get 4 -6 more danios ASAP!, they are nasty fin nippers when they are not in a largerish group.
