Newbie with filter question

I've read that when water treatments are added to take the carbon filter out but to let water continue to circulate through filter. How long should I wait after doing water changes & adding Aqueon Water Conditioner to established 10 gal guppy tank?

You don't have to wait when adding dechlorinator. What you read refers to adding medications, which would be filtered out by the carbon.
Also remember that carbon loses its effect after about 4 weeks, so if you use it you'll need to replace.

If this a new setup be sure to let the tank cycle before adding fish.

Hello and welcome to Fishlore Slade is correct if you are just adding water conditioner you do not need to wait. And carbon should be removed if your medicating the tank for a sick fish.

I never change my filters, I only rinse them out in used tank water. I do have panty hose filled with carbon if I feel I need to use some but that isn't very often.
