    Hi all,

I just got a new vampire crab from a friend out of no where, now housing it in a small betta/breeding box with water 2-3mm high taken from my main aquarium with some random junk I salvaged from my old builds.

I've kept crustaceans before but this is the first time I'm keeping a crab and I know alot of crabs need salt/brackish water. Do these need brackish or can they live in fresh? And any other tips for keeping them?

They spend most of their time on land and just need a little pool of water. They like plants and moss in the land area. I believe they are freshwater.

You could try it. I would take all of the water out then put it a reasonably deep layer of gravel in and bury a shallow dish of water in it.

I see... yea I can do that... I'll post a pic later once I finish a "renovation".
    Thanks :)
