HI to everyone. Decided to get a tank and found this site. I've been reading for about a month now and all I can say is there is a ton of info here and I want to thank everyone for sharing it.

I picked up a 36g bowfront. I envision a low tech planted tank. It's not set up yet I just filled it out on the patio to check for leaks. Looks good so far, we'll see in the morning.

I want to get some new carpet in the room it will be placed so I'll have to wait about a month to start my fishless cycle. But until then I plan on reading and learning as much as possible.

Thanks again for all the info. Questions to follow.

Welcome! Glad to have you on the forum. You're going about everything the right way. We'll all look forward to seeing pictures when you get your tank set up. ☺ what species of fish do you fancy?

Hi, welcome to fishlore. I m still very new to the forum and I have already learnt so much about all aspects of fish keeping and I'm sure you will as well. When you start to get an idea of what fish you fancy, let us know and the lovely people of fishlore will help.

Hello and welcome! Lots of stuff to learn and people to learn it from here

Not to hijack the thread, but since the OP has to wait a while to set up this tank and since it will be a fishless cycle, would it be possible to put the filter in a bucket and cycle it while waiting? Then when the tank goes up it might be ready for stocking.
