New to Fancy Goldfish

Hi guys! New member here, just got my first ever Fancy Goldfish and are absolutely fascinated by them. I especially LOVE pearlscales but haven’t found any available for sale yet, but I got a Black Moor and an Oranda from my LFS and want to do good by them!
I currently have them in a 20 gal and on the lookout for a bigger tank (moving soon so hoping the 20 gal ok while they’re still less than an inch long)
Tank cycled and clean, doing weekly partial water changes. Anything else I’m missing? I really want them to grow as big as possible! What’s the biggest goldfish breed? I really love their fat bellies.
anyways, thanks for any info!

Oranda can get pretty big. Best advice I give to new folks is keep clean water and feed well. Avoid hikari foods. They're garbage.

Nothing missing, I don't think!

Just make sure you don't have any sharp decorations that could tear their fins, or any caves/hollow decorations they can get stuck in.

Feed lots of food (I think whatever they'll eat is fine - most modern big brands of food are more than good enough), change lots of water, and get to know them - fish will tell you if they aren't happy, but you have to know what "normal" looks like first. It's especially obvious with fancy goldfish, IME - they have so much personality that it's especially obvious when they just don't feel well.

20 gallons will be fine for quite a while with just the two of them as long as you stay on top of water quality. I'd get some test strips or a test kit, if you don't have one already. Aim to keep nitrates under 40 (under 20 is better, but it can be tricky in heavily-stocked tanks). Ammonia and nitrite should always be 0, and for goldfish, I like to keep the PH above 7.5. They can adapt to lower, but I've always found that they like a little hard water. If yours is somewhere in that ballpark above 7, you should be fine.

Also, when in doubt about an illness hit them with salt. Salt is the best general cure medicine you can have, and that goes double with goldfish.

Not sure if you have a Petsuppliesplus in your area, but they're doing a 50% off tank sale right now. I just picked up another 29. They'll deliver it, too, for free (if you spend $35, meaning buy at least a 29g which was $34 + 1 more dollar). If you want them to grow fast, do big water changes. It removes certain hormones from the water and will lead to greater growth.

I have one Oranda. I got it along with some Fantails and Ryukin for my 100g. They're all growing FAST. It's only been a few weeks with the new babies and the growth is crazy. I feed them good, over-filter, and do regular water changes. Good luck with yours. I just got back into fancies, they sometimes have issues I don't have to deal with, with single-tails and other fish.
