I'm getting ready to start a new planted tank. Got the gravel soaking, Media soaking, I use Fluval substrate in my tanks I have now. Should I soak it as well? :;hi2 The Fluval substrate is mixed with the gravel in the other tanks.

I'm confused about why you'd be soaking the gravel at all. I rinse mine, as per the instructions on the bag, but nothing else. If by fluval substrate, you mean their granulated plant and shrimp substrates, the instructions on those bags specifically say not to rinse them.

I'm soaking the gravel in water from the tank I'm replacing, in order to get some biological stuff to start.

How long are you leaving the gravel in there? I'm not sure if this will work how you mean it to, as it takes 3-4 weeks for media to seed.
Also, the water isn't what holds the bacteria so this won't help.
