well I got my new tank I wanted for christmas!! its a regent aqua tech 20 gallon kit, can't wait to move my fish over to it, just have to wait a while

thanks, I was reading the setup instructions for the tank, and they say to wait only to wait 24 hours before adding fish, no mention of cycling the tank or anything like that

Yeah, they don't seem to know much about the nitrogen cycle. All they want to do is sell the tank. They aren't in the business of keeping the fish alive. This site is wonderful for giving top notch advice to new fish people. Be sure to read the article here on the nitrogen cycle if you haven't already. Congratulations on the new tank.

I definitely agree, i've had my 10G setup for quite a long time, and this site has helped me make it better than what it was

Congrats on your new tank And DON'T listen to the instructions if they tell you to put the fish in the tank the next day !

I started laughing when I read that, what I did was add some cycle to the water and two of my plants from my other tank that's cycled, kind of up in the air about using one of the bags from the filter to seed the new one since the new one uses pads instead
