I'm brand new here, need some help.
I had a small 10 gallon with glofish tetras ×4 I thought they looked crowded so I bought a 38 gallon. I set it up let it run for a couple weeks and transfered the glofish. Then I waited a few days and added more fish.

In total I have
6 Glotetra
4 dwarf gouramis
1 dalmation molly (other 2 died)
2 clown pleco
It think I added 2 many fish and to fast.
Now after lots of research I made sooooo many mistakes, and I think they have ich, in a new tank with already stressed fish. Please help.
I have started to raise the temp
I know your going to ask for my water levels...I don't know im going to get test strips today.

First off welcome, we all make mistakes and this is fixable. Get test strips asap and mattgirl is amazing at fish in cycles and if you get test results they can walk you through the cycle.

As far as ich get ich x and follow directions on bottle.

Also what kind of filter do you have? Most can be modified and use other media and save on not buying cartridges from store.

Whenever new fish are purchased, they need to be quarantined to make sure they are not sick. Your old 10 gallon tank would make an ideal quarantine tank. It is always best to purchase new fish a few at a time and wait until the tank stabilizes before adding any more. In this case, you set up a new 38 gallon tank. Adding the GloFish after a couple of weeks may have been OK. However, it takes 6-8 weeks for a tank to become fully cycled. By adding even more fish before that period was completed, you may have created a situation where the beneficial bacteria could not handle all the ammonia generated. That stresses the fish.

By adding new fish without quarantining them, you may have introduced ICH into your tank.

Your profile does not indicate where you live. If you live in North America, I highly recommend you get the API Master Freshwater Test Kit. You can purchase it on Amazon for a good price. The liquid reagent tests are a lot more accurate than the test strips, although they are not as convenient.
Be sure to test your tap water when you get the test kit. That can tell you if you have any potential issues with the tap water you are using for water changes.

I agree with getting ich-x. This looks like some fish have a lot of ich on them and usually at this point meds are recommended. You might want to look into rehoming the dwarf gouramis. IME they don’t work well in groups and often will fight with each other.

The dwarf gouramis have been awsome they hang out with each other I haven't seen any fighting. I will also get the ich x and order the test kit. Thank u guys for your help! I hope they make it, I didn't realize home much I like to watch these guys til I got the big aquarium and put it in the family room.

I have an Aqueon Pro 40

They might be fine now but once they mature they will fight. In a large tank like 55 gallon it might work but in this tank there won’t be enough space for them once they mature.

She was wrong. Male dwarf gourami will not be friends when mature

I’m sorry, but it sounds like you got misinformed. One dwarf gouramis reach maturity then they’ll start fighting for territory. Often they’ll even fight to the death (or until one is severely injured) if there isn’t enough space. They won’t attack other fish though, so a single one would work fine.

But one as a centerpiece in small tank is totally perfect

Yeah, a single dwarf gourami is perfect for a small tank.

Another stupid question, how do I know if I have males....

If you have two males you'll know because they will fight until one dies. I made the same mistake, I bought 2 DGs for my 43 gallon and after the settling in period (a couple a weeks) they fought constantly. I assume two males.

I have a pair of dwarf gourami in a 55 gallon tank. They chase each other frequently. Fortunately, my tank is big enough and has enough hiding spots among the plants that the bullied one can escape before any damage is done.

I dont feel like that proves multiple DGs are fine to live together. The bullied one is going to be stressed out from being frequently chased. Seems like an unnecessary problem when you could just have one.

So it looks like I have 3 males and a female from looking at the shape of the fins...

The bully in my tank seems to be the dalmation molly that lost his tank mates.

I wouldn't look at fin shape, look at colors, can you get images? Females normally are 1 color and are much more bland coloration, while males are much more pretty.

Yeah all males. Females are a pale silvery grey colour and in some places are very difficult to find. Many shops only sell the more colourful males.
