New Tank - New Light Needed

I purchased a 55 gallon aquarium yesterday and need a light fixture. I currently have a Fluval SEA on my other tank. Its very expensive.
I am looking at this fixture.

Hygger Auto On Off LED Aquarium Light - Hygger
Hygger Aquarium Fish Tank Light designed with LCD Monitor and Adjustable Timer, it is an auto On Off Aquarium Light by 3 Modes for 12"-54" Freshwater Tank.

Anyone have any experience with this fixture? Good or bad? I like it is programmable but the instructions are not real clear. I want to ramp it up and down twice a day. Seems simple enough.
Any suggestions regarding this fixture and any other fixtures you might recommend?
Thanks John

I don’t have experience with this light, however, I’ve never been able to get the programmable lights (or anything, really) to work properly. Amazon (edit: see below) lights almost always come with no or hard to read instructions.

However, I just had an AquaNeat 48” LED full spectrum light arrive today, and I am super happy with it. Best part? It only cost me $46 (USA) and arrived packaged really well. Definitely worth considering. The only downfall, however, is that it isn’t programmable and can only be on (pretty bright) or off. There is no dim/sunset setting or a blu

Hope I could help!

I just realized that you linked to the website, the above may still be true, but I said Amazon because Hygger is all over Amazon. So please take the above with a grain of salt.

Ok I’ve not used this one but have used their 957 programable fixture. Mines been great so far. Just bought 2 more. Once you understand how to program it it’s easy and can be programmed for a 24/7 lighting period. It’s a full spectrum light. So you can adjust it to any light tone at anytime. If shutting off and turning on it will go on and off slowly. 15 min to reach the light setting you’ve set.

Good info. In that case, you should be good with little to no instructions. I’ve heard some good things about the light itself, and it’s pretty affordable (I would check the companies website and Amazon for the better price; a lot of the time, one will be cheaper than the other). :)

Like I said, I am having issues with the Fluval SEA. Connectivity between the fixture and my Android tablet. I can connect with my Iphone. Fluval has not even responded to two emails and one call at least. For a fixture that costs almost $300 you would think they would support the product.
I am now using a mechanical timer to turn it off and on at 2 different times of the day. All these were discussing do not do that on your schedule. They have preset photoperiods at 3-4-10 hours etc.. You cannot preset for 1 hour. 3 hours yes. 1 hour no.
I turn on the lights once in the morning for 1 hour. Then on and off again for 4 hours in the evening.
So because of the FluvalSmart app, I am considering going with a basic fixture that I can control from a 24 hour mechanical timer.
I would like to set the intensity and color and from there let the external mechanical timer do the rest. I am not really wanting a complicated programming situation like I am in now.
While programming was somewhat easy when the fixture was connected to the tablet, it is now impossible with the Iphone.

I have the hygger 978 planted light and it's fine. I just use the 10hr timer mode and haven't bother with the 24hr cycle and other stuff it supposed to do.

I bought this fixture yesterday. No fancy programming with only on and off and full spectrum as well. Since I cannot program the Fluval SEA anymore with my tablet, I just went with the basic fixture and will use the very inexpensive mechanical timer.
On for one hour in the morning to feed and 4 hours in the evening to feed and enjoy.
Thanks for the link. Its supposed to arrive tomorrow.

I can also send it back with no charge if I don't like it.
