I moved my mbunas from my 55 gallon to my 40 gallon breeder to have them by themselves I just made the move yesterday and it’s barely been a day but I notice they’re glass surfing almost the whole time and not really eating when I feed should I be worried or will they adapt to their new tank? This is an already established tank I had my betta and my platies here before I moved them into their own 10 gallon tank.

The Mbuna might just be disoriented.
All their territories were instantly removed.
As long as all water parameters are fine, the Mbuna should soon begin to settle in. Be a good idea to build a bigger hardscape.

Yeah on my right side I have pots stacked on top of each other but I’ve been looking into rocks but I’m on a budget and I am not sure if Home Depot sells like medium to big rocks for cheap

Shop your local rockyard or landscape company. You can hand pick rocks from a huge selection.
Prices in my area range from 15 - 25 cent per lb.
Probably be able to build a nice sized reef for $10 - $15.
