Great tank. Is it cycled?

Its not yet fully cycled - but the gravel and sand was taken from a live tank so it should cycle quickly. Fortunately the male betta seems very happy but I will be keep a close eye at least til I get a decent water change tomorrow.

There’s not enough beneficial bacteria in gravel and sand to do any good. You need cycled media from a used filter. Otherwise, you are going to have to do a fish in cycle. That will require you to use Seachem Prime daily to prevent the ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates from being toxic to your fish. They will still be there for testing but won’t be toxic. Be sure to test daily with an API master freshwater test kit. Keep us posted.

Absolutely its not enough beneficial bacteria. about 30% of the water is also recycled from his old tank as well. But yes definitely monitoring the tank closely and the fish.

Temp is a solid 27 and used some aqua salt to help buffer the Ph which is sitting at a solid 7 - 7.2
But I will update with more in the next week or so.
