Hi, I'm in the process of setting up a new tank and I'm going through some potential combinations of fish. I have a 160 litre (42usg) rectangle tank. I could do with some help on any potential compatibility and overstocking issues if that's okay?

The fish I'm looking at getting are:

1x Electric blue acara
6x black ruby barb
5x kuhli loach
6x marble hatchet
3x bristlenose Pleco

I would also like to get another schooling fish perhaps gourami or larger species of tetra if there is room and/or are compatible. My main concern is the acara as I definitely want to have one. :)

There's lots of info out there but want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Any help would be great. Thanks

I'd say you'd be quite heavily stocked if you added all the fish you mentioned and should not consider also adding tetras and/or a gourami along with those in a tank that size.

Okay thankyou, I'll revise the numbers and or fish. As far as compatibility goes can you see any potential problems with any of the above?
Many thanks.
