hI guys I had to share again haha

so I went away for 4 days, got home and one of my 20 gallon tanks has ich.. so I put in some ich drops and I will move all the fish into a 15 gallon tank just for the time being while I treat the 20 gallon tank..

but on the positive side..

I just got a new 25g tank with a few more guppies and 2 swordtails ( swordtails are being moved to the 30 gallon tank )

and then I'm busy cycling a 60 gallontank for more sword tails..

my pure strains FINALLY dropped and waiting for the fry to get some size and colour to be sure they are pure (holding thumbs)

my 20 gallon is becomming a little over stocked with all the fry in there, also thinking of moving some of the bigger guppies into the 25g

but will sort all that in the moring..

thanks for reading...

forgot to add that 2 of my plecos also passed for an unknown reason..

If the 20 gallon has Ich & you move those fish to the 15 then you'll have to treat that tank too

yes I do know that.. the 15 gallon I'm moving them to is cycled but has no fish in.. so ill just use that and treat it after I move them back to their old tank..

If you don't treat the 15 while the fish are in it & then move them back to the 20 you'll just reinfect the 20, I'd leave them where they are & treat that tank

I think what @Coradee is saying is that you have to treat them in the tank that they infected. If you move them to your 15 gallon to treat the 20g, now you have to treat the 15 gallon and the 20g. You basically infected the 15 gallon for no reason. If you pull the swordtails out of the 15 gallon to move to the clean 20g, now you've reinfected your 20g. I'd just crank the heat to about 82 and hope the spores come off before I dose every tank I had.

okay no problem.. thanks for the advice.. just hope my tank below doesn't become infected..

could a tank be infected just by one drop from the 20g?

if so ill just have to tell people not to fiddle with the 20 gallon otherwise my 25g is going to become infected

Ich is very very easy to cure. Just do the heat method. I've done it many many many many times with nothing but success

I set my heat to 82.4F

would that be hot enough?

It should be. Careful not set it too high though or you will risk killing your fish. 82 is pretty close to their limit

ill just try the heat thing for a while and if that doesn't work ill try the other methods
