Hi friends, my silver Arowana has grown almost 16” now,’presently he is in a 140 G tank. Iam planning for a new tank. I have a dedicated space in home where I can make a aquarium of size 51” Width X 32” Height X 36” depth is this size safe and good for Arowana ? This volume is 237 G.
other option I have is same 60” width X 32” Height X 24” depth sums up to 187 G which one would be ideal for homing a Arowana along with silver dollars and couple is clown loach, thank you.

Considering it can grow to 2-3 feet I would try to get at least a tank that has the dimensions of 8'x2' base.

hi, is that ok if I make 5.5’ wide and 2’3” base and 2’ height aquarium ? Considering the capacity would be alright? Else I can make 4’9 width and 3’ base tank which will give a volume of 237 G.
I don’t have a lengthy space of 8’ so is there any alternate option considering above 2 options what I have ?

I would go for the 51" width.
So 51”X36” base is the best option here ? Can I make one

They can get 3 to 3.5 feet long I believe, you would want at least a 8 or 10 foot long tank and 3 or 4 feet depth.

51" × 36" is a little over 4 feet, giving the arrowana at full size 1 foot to move and almost no room to turn around. For comparison that would be like putting an oscar in a 10 gallon tank.

Unless you plan on upgrading the tank again in the next year or so, you should just get the really big tank now so the arrowana is happiest

Thanks for the reply, I understand your point,
Will see where I can squeeze in a space for 8’X 2 foot tank. I was thinking the volume matters so 4’3” tank would be big enough

Considering the larger volume and an extra foot in width vs the extra 9 inches in length I think the 51"x3' base is best for now, until you can upgrade.
