Was checking my newsfeed on Fb when I came along this

I was thinking a tank like this would be great for bottom feeders and other species that spend there time on bottom? I might get one of they are not too expensive

 

I like it! Do people who keep corals tend to use inline heaters? Are they more efficient than internal heaters for tanks with huge surface area but relatively low water volume? That was a problem I had when I tried to run a similarly-shaped low tank. The heat escaped so fast that I needed a huge heater to keep it warm.

They usually run sump system with the strong heater in the sump. The constant water flowing over the heater makes heating the tank easier. Or you could always make your own glass top for it.

 

I had a long shallow tank similar to that made to fit a space that couldn't take a normal taller tank thinking it'd be great for corys.
Although they seemed to love the footprint they wouldn't spawn in it, I tried with several groups & not one of them bred yet when put back in their normal taller tanks they went straight back to spawning regularly.
I think that the tank being shallow made the corys think it was the dry season & not the best time to be breeding, I have no idea if that was the reason but it kinda made sense to me.
