You can’t let him alone for one second! He’s there and then gone, super speedy!

He moved from the left pane of glass to the heater, then fell to the ground.
When I turned the light on, he was on the ground in his shell, he hasn't moved since last night.

I really want to be successful with this snail.
What kind of water parameters do they like best? GH, KH?

he should be fine as long as he reacts to touch and can close his door all the way with no problem. the PH should be 7.5-8.5, GH 8-18, KH 12-18, and they do best at water temp 62-78F. you can usually tell if something is wrong with the water if their foot gets swollen or they start producing excess wads of slime

I’ve never had mystery snails, but how do you tell if their foot is swollen?

Their shoe won't fit :).

Never seen one with a swollen foot.

They do move very fast when they want to and they also seem to go dormant for days at a time. Mine is less active the day after he has munched on a bottom feeder pellet or a piece of Pleco wafer.

sometimes if the ammonia content is too high, the won't be able to close their doors all the way and their foot will be sticking out or look like a fist. sometimes they have growth spurts or sit with their doors open but it never hurts to keep an eye on the water contents if you check regularly and keep the tank clean it should be fine though!!
