I recently started cycling my 10 gallon tank. I'm trying to figure out what fish to put in it when it is finished and I think I have it down. But it would be nice to get some feedback on what I have selected. Do you guys think these fish will do fine?

1 Dwarf Gourami

6 Neon Tetra

4 Pygmy Cory

All of those fish need 20 gallons minimum and the cories should be kept in larger groups

Any stock recommendations?

I like the idea of the 8 pearl danios and the 2 gobies. What kind of shrimp should I look into adding, if there are specific types.

Or keep the neons and get a betta instead of a gourami. They're both anabantoids. And maybe 3 or 4 ottos instead of the cories as they should be kept in schools 6 or more of the same species. This is the stock I want for my aquaponic herb garden kitchen aquarium. Also plants and snails. But yeah, it's classic. You can't go wrong

Amanos would be great. Cherry shrimp or ghost shrimp could work too

Neons and otos need 20 gallons+
Neons need cooler water than bettas
It's pretty risky to keep bettas with other fish in anything less than 20 gallons.

Thanks XD

Would the 2 sparkling gourami become too aggressive for the ember tetras?

No, sparkling gouramis are a very peaceful type of gourami

Would the tank be good with 10 Ember Tetras, 1 sparkling gourami, and 1 amano shrimp?

I would definitely do more amanos. Mine are very social and they feel safer in larger groups. They also have a very low bioload so getting more will not overstock your tank. I would do 5-8.

Sparkling gouramis do best in pairs or groups.
