New setup 20 gallon high (moving fish over from old tank)

HI I have been running my 20 gallon high for about 1 week and half. I ran the filter media in my established cycled 10 gallon this time and just took the old media and part of the new and put it in the new tank. I am using prime and stability both.

I also moved 2 of my Danios (2 left in 10 gallon) to make the transition over to their bigger home. The 2 seem very happy and using up all the space all over the tank!

When would I move the other 2. I don't want overload the tank but I don't want to separate them that long. As long as I keep a check on the parameters is it okay to put all four in (I plan to get a couple more Danios later so I have a full school but won't do that anytime soon).

I also won't move my otos over there till much much later since they are doing so well as they are and I don't want to stress them out (How long should I wait? A month?).

Any suggestions??

Before I moved the first two danios I tested both waters for temp and parameters and they were exactly the same. Should I be okay?

I just worry as I have had these danios forever and don't want to lose them.

Thanks for reading all this!!

I think you'd be fine to put in the other 2. They'd be less stressed that way if they were all together. Just keep watch on those parameters for the next several days for any spikes and have Prime ready to dose in case you see any.

I'd wait at least a couple of months before adding the otos.

Make sure you watch the parameters! Do you have a pic of your tank? I agree with el337 you probably want to wait a few months since the last thing you want is the otos just getting acclimated to your tank and then they have to acclimate to a new tank which will stress them out usually causing death since they are sensitive fish.

Thanks I will post a photo! And yes the Otos can stay in the ten gallon as long as needed I just want to get a couple more later so they have friends. They are happy in the 10 gallon with their weekly zucchinI and their wafers

Yes I check the water daily! thanks again!! I will move them later tnite (The last 2) First off they are tricky to catch and second seems less stressful to do at night!

I would suggest getting live plants since otos really should be in planted aquariums since they usually naturally have algae for the otos. The otos love hiding and resting on plants with large leaves!
