Hey all,
For those that have responded to my posts about my Amazonian biotope in the past, thank you so much! Couldn’t have done any of this without you guys! Anyway, I have a 10 gallon QT currently with 8 rummynose tetra. My display tank got ick about 2 months ago and it started with 11 rummynose and 2 Bolivian ram in a 55 gal.
Once the dust settled and ick was cured, I was left with both Bolivians (they are tanks man, never got one spot and withstood the heat and medication with no problems) and 3 rummynoses. I had to special order more rummynoses and gave them time from the from the moment my LFS received them to when I purchased them.
When I arrived to pick them up, I pointed out to the owner that some of them had white spot and he gave me a discount on the fish and also sold me medication (a white powdery substance) that he claimed isn’t sold but only to LFS (sold it to me in daily doses). I’m using heat and this medication to QT the new arrivals and will give them plenty of time before introducing to the display. Any suggestions for taking care of new sick rummynoses?
