New Pond Journal

Hello everyone, after several months of planning I have finally started to build a pond. I want to make a little journal that people could follow along and learn, criticize, or give some tips. I will try to update this as the pond is built and not forget to upload on this
Heres the hole me and a friend dug out, the dimensions are 6ft long, 2ft wide and 2ft deep. We would have dug it deeper but the soil becomes very compact clay that is to tough for us to dig through

I built the start of the frame today, the plan is to build a box that's about 8ft long, 4ft wide and 3-4ft tall, so in all the pond is a total of around 5-6ft deep. The next step now is to clean the hole up a bit and start building the entire frame. Since the soil is so tough I'll be using an augur to drill some holes into the ground so I can cement some 4x4 posts to act as a boundary
