HI all

I have some new pictures of my kitty She's about 5 - 6 months old now and loves to play with - and hide in - paper and plastic bags, lol. She's becoming quite a lady! Enjoy

Rubber duck ... lol ... I also have one like that, and it squeaks too, lol ;D

Gwenz, we call her all the sweetest names (as we called the kitty that was stolen from us), but I guess officially she's "Miss Patches"

in the first pic it looks like she has a double paw--or thumb-- my cat is double pawed!!! and I think they are the cutest!! even though my boyfriend thinks it a result of inbreeding-- Looking more closely at Miss Patches I don't think she is-- you would know it!!! LILA

I don't even know what cats with double thumbs look like - so if she has a double thumb, I wouldn't even know, lol . But I didn't notice any difference between her paws and my older cat's paws - so either both have double paws or neither.

no - believe me you would know-- I'll get a good pic of taba and post for you to see!!! LILA

Carol, thanks for asking She's still alive and seems to be doing just fine! And ... she's definitely getting ready to get spayed! About time! I think I will take her to the vet in the coming weeks (definitely before the Spring comes!). I will try to post her new pictures And how is the little black ball of fur doing!? (LOL, he looks like a tiny hairy ball!)

Glad to hear she's doing well As for my tiny ball of fur- He's doing good. Making the dogs (minI Dachund) life miserable. Angus likes to chew on the dogs ears and he lets him. Mia still holds him down and cleans him although he cleans himself. I think she just likes to hear him yelp

Just an update: Miss Patches has just been spayed (picked her up from the vet this evening). Poor little thing, she hates having the collar on her neck and ... lol ... she walks BACKWARDS now! She thinks walking backwards will remove the collar off her neck, lol. Otherwise, she's doing very well. The surgery went well She should be fully recovered in the next 10 - 14 days; that's when we go to take off the stitches.

Also, I am sorry I haven't posted any new pictures of her. I have taken some new pictures but haven't transferred them onto my computer yet. I promise I'll do that. When I will be posting my 75G tank pictures, that's when I'll try to post her pictures as well. Once again, sorry for making you wait so long.

The vet that I've taken her to, for the spaying, is the vet that I always take my older cat to. I have already told you the story of how the other vet told me "how sick she is" and that "she'll die in a matter of weeks, and months at best" ... remember? Well, I had a bad feeling about this vet from the very beginning because my kitty looked perfectly healthy to me. So, before I took her to my old vet, I took a copy of her medical records from the liar vet and gave it to my old vet. And when I took her for the spaying, I asked the old vet to perform the same tests the other vet performed, just to confirm whether she's actually "that sick". The old vet called today with the results, and OF COURSE, she's perfectly healthy. As I have suspected, the other liar vet was just trying to make lots of money off me by telling me that my kitty is sick so that I repeat lots of expensive tests ... and the vet gets rich this way.

I knew it from the beginning that they were lying. I am glad I can trust my instincts. I knew she was healthy And even if she wasn't, I'd never give her up or - even worse - euthanize her (as the liar vet has suggested to me!). I remember their faces when I was taking her medical records - such an evil look! They knew perfectly well why I was changing my vet, and that's why they didn't even ask for the reason! I am so glad she is OK Anyway, she always was

Pictures are coming soon, I promise!

Carol, maybe that's because she's not an outdoor cat (I don't let her out alone, unless I take her myself to walk on my backyard - that's all ... this is because of the story of the other cat, if you remember). I've noticed that cats that go out a lot have mat fur, while those that stay indoors have usually shiny or soft fur.

MamaM, thanks for the picture of your cat too!

she is such a pretty girl!! and so grown up!! My indoor cat gets matted on her backside, despite the long brush sessions that she trully enjoys! the mats are exactly where she plops her but all day long!! all she does is sleep. Miss Patches is so beautiful!! Thanks for the pics! LILA

LOL, of course ;D I love the camera for letting me take more detailed and close-up pictures of my fish and kitties Also, a great camera for any kinds of shots really, ranging from landscapes to tiny insects (and with better lens you can take amazing pics of tiny objects).

Although the above 3 pictures were taken without a flash so they're not detailed. She keeps closing her eyes when I use flash, and I can literally NEVER get her picture with her eyes open. Tiger, on the other hand, doesn't seem to mind the flash. That's why I was able to take better pictures of him.

lol

Isn't it ironic how many fish lovers have cats as pets?

LOL, I think it's that all fish lovers are also all other pet lovers If I had the time and the space, I'd have a huge dog (i.e. german shepherd, siberian husky, or golden retriever) long ago too. I love dogs and cats the same, only cats require less space and don't need to be walked out, so they - in effect - require less time. They're pretty self-sufficient. That's why I need to be content with cats and fish only for now. In the future, I am DEFINITELY getting a dog!

Siberian Husky

We used to have a Siberian Husky, red and white coat, dichromatic eyes, one hazle almost light honey color, the other light blue, so light blue it almost looked white. It was the dumbest dog I ever loved. It was good for nothing other than entertainment. On Spring nights, usually for a week, it would howl so emotively it made my mom, sis and me cry. His howl seemed so full of emotion and longing, almost as if it were calling out to something he missed so dearly. Ugh, I get a knot in my throat just thinking about it. But the bastartd ran a way. Many times actually, the last time we never found him again.

Run away ??? !!! How!? Why? Don't get dogs attached to their owners permanently? I'd think a dog would come back home sooner than a cat would. Yet, cats will always come home, unless something happens to them. And wow, you were so lucky to have such a wonderful dog! I'm so jealous of anybody who has a Siberian Husky! See, that's also why I don't have a dog. I do have a backyard but it's open where the driveway is (no fence on that side). Plus, the backyard is too small for a dog like Siberian Husky or German Shpeherd - these dogs are huge and they need a LOT of space to run a lot on a DAILY basis. I couldn't keep a dog confined within a small backyard - that's cruel to me. You can't keep a dog inside your house forever either - you need to walk it out. Right now, I don't have the time for hours of walking the dog out daily. So I need to wait until I move away on my own and get a huge back yard.

Dogs do tend to come back home. However, unfortunately, Huskies don't. Remember they are a dog/wolf breed. Given the chance their tendency is to run away and not come back. In a city, and most likely our case, what keeps them from coming back are other "new" owners preventing him from doing so. He was in our back yard, big enough for him to run all he wanted... oh boy did he want to! lol Sounded like horses our back all evening long! lol

Also remember, they are working dogs. They are very, VERY strong. You didn't walk him. He walks YOU! We used to put a harness on him and we'd put our four wheel on! Otherwise you'd go face first lol. They are also quite agile. He jumped a five foot fence like I walk up a step. They're also very ingenious. A friend of ours had a black and white female. She used laurel shrubs to push her back against as she walked up a six foot block wall. I know, I SAW her myself. While trying to catch her, she jumped three consecutive five foot fences with one hop each. She looked like a bunny rabbit! There really is no stopping those dogs.

I knew they're working dogs that need a lot of space to run freely on a daily basis and a lot of other physical activities (which is why I am not getting this kind of a dog now, because I wouldn't be able to provide it with these conditions right now), but I didn't know they can jump a 5 foot fence and climb shrubs !!! WOW ! This makes it look that no matter how tall your fence is and no matter how big your backyard is, these half-wild dogs can still run away :-\ But you know what? I'd still want to give it a try. Precisely all of these things + these dogs' intelligence and their wild tendencies, are what makes me want to get it so badly! ;D I ADORE these dogs (as well as German Shepherds and Golden Retrievers). My dad had a German Shepherd from the time when he was a young boy up until when I was about 2-3 years old. I can't really remember this dog, perhaps really vaguely, but my dad has some of the dog's pictures. He says the dog played with me ;D. He always speaks so fondly of him. He cried like a baby when the dog died and carried him himself to the burial place. He said the dog was the smartest and most loyal animal he'd ever known and his best friend. See, that's why I love these dogs so much and can't wait to get one!

Like I said, dumbest dog I'll ever LOVE and I meant it. The one I was fond of the most though was my lil beagle cross breed/mut. I miss him sometimes. I remember a LONG time ago, I was feeling not so well. I moaned when I got this sudden stomach cramp because of meds I was taking... the dog ran and dragged a bed cover over to me. lol
