New Nymphaea Lotus (Red Tiger)

So yesterday my Nymphaea Lotus arrived from Aqua Essentials and was in really good shape when it turned up, well packaged and prompt delivery (after paying £7.99 for express of course my poor wallet). I bought it with leaves and it's about 8" tall at the moment, which isn't a bad size I think. I have put a root tab beneath the main roots to make sure the plant gets all the iron and everything it needs whilst it settles in. I wasn't sure how to bury the plant correctly (I've never had a bulb plant before but I have heard that the bulb will rot if fully buried), so the lotus is only partially buried currently. Any advice on burying my little lotus would be greatly appreciated I'm waiting on my Seachem Excel to arrive this week, so Little Lotus won't be CO2 starved for too long.

I don't plant mine, I just let them sit on the substrate. The roots will find their way into the substrate on their own so you just need to get them close. Any pics?

 

One from today. The older leaves are greener than the newer shoots which have started to open up.

Another two leaves have appeared today and both are a really rich red colour thanks to the root tabs I put in. I keep forgetting just how fast it grows! A leaf could be still furled in the morning and then be half the size of the older leaves in no time. Seems to have settled in nicely though.

 

The coloration looks more like a green tiger lotus to me, do you have any closer up photos?

Had to take it from the side because my fish are giant show offs. Hope it's a bit better than the other one though.

Edit: I think that furled leaf is going to shoot up to the surface.
