New. need community advice

Okay so I am going to put a maximum of 16 fish in my 60 gallon

This current fish formula is

4 guppys, 1 sparkling gourami, 1 dwarf puffer fish (proven peaceful), 1 white mountain minnow (proven to be social and active by itself), 3 least killifish (also called dwarf livebearer or mosquito fish), 4 neon tetras.

That's a total of 14 fish. These fish are a MUST in my tank.

I need help with deciding what I want the last two to be.

I really like the golden dwarf sucking oto and the pygmy corydora's but they need to be school apparently. I'm looking for fish that will do fine by themselves. Something bigger and showy.

NO BARBS.

dwarf puffer is a no go, way to aggressive.

They are not aggressive if they have at least 5 gallons of their own territory, which mine does.

I am sorry to inform you that you have been mislead. They don't play well with others and you would never put a single puffer in a 5g.

How is your white mountain minnow different from my white cloud minnows? My white clouds school, the more the better

I've had mine for over two months now and he has proved himself peaceful in a 5 gallon, 20 gallon, and now 60 gallon. I think that people have different experiences with fish like the puffer and so maybe you are confusing your own experience with my situation.

Regardless, I was looking for two other fish to fit in my aquarium, not an opinion about the current formula I have for my tank

well I can't offer up anything since I feel the puffer will have issues with the fish. Good luck.

My White Cloud Minnows are very peaceful, but they are in an unheated tank with Goldfish. I am not sure they will last long in the 80 + degree habıtat.

The best advice I can give, is to add 2 more neon tetras so that they will have an actual, albeit small, school.

Like nearly everyone else on this forum, I would recommend re-homing the puffer and the white cloud, but I can tell from your post that you are not going to do that, so best of luck to you. Hopefully your willful insistence will not result in the death of your fish.

For the record, 2 months is not nearly long enough to make an informed observation regarding the temperament of a particular fish. I had a betta in a tank with some shrimp for about 4 months without problem, and then in the course of about 24 hours she had killed every shrimp in the tank. If you do continue with this, be certain to keep a very watchful eye on your fish.
