New Member with African Dwarf Frog Health Question

Hello! I’m a new member and I’ve recently starting owning fish in January. I recently got an African Dwarf frog and they initially had a tiny bump on the skin near the mouth. It has been about two weeks and the lump has grown and looks slightly pink. I am concerned and not sure what this may be. I also have it with other fish. Does anyone know what this may be or have experienced this?

I am not sure that is a disease. It may just be a growth. However, if it is caused by a disease, it will be hard to pin down, and even harder to treat.

Is the frog showing any other symptoms? Also do you have any other frogs with it? If so, how many males and females and what sized tank? Can I have a full stocking list? He may have gotten into a fight.

What is the frog being fed, and how often? Also, where did you get him. He looks pretty pale. I’m worried about him having chytrid. Big-chain frogs are almost always doomed from the start.

One more thing, is there anything white/cottony/slimy on the bump?

Unfortunately, if it turns out it’s a growth or an abscess, euthanasia will be the best course in the near future. That looks very painful.

I don’t suggest this often, but do you have the means to go to a vet? If you do call around. There’s a good chance a frog vet isn’t in your area, but it’s possible.

However, truth be told, the vet very likely can’t do anything. It might be worth a shot, though.

I know this is a lot of questions, however, it will help me pinpoint what’s wrong.
