New member of the family :)

I just realized that I never introduced out newest member of the family

About a month ago, we decided to get a friend for our dog Jeffrey, and we ended up rescuing the sweetest little dog from the local shelter. She had been there for almost three months and nobody had adopted her (she was probably going to get put to sleep soon), which was shocking because she is just the sweetest thing! We named her Daisy. She is a two year old poodle-terrier mix and is only 10.5 pounds. She loves playing with Jeffrey and spending all day in my lap. I have never met a more affectionate dog in my life. Anyways, here are a few pics. I hope you enjoy them

BTW: They had to shave her, so she looks kind of weird right now, but once her hair gets longer she'll be much prettier

Thanks Amanda All of my animals are rescues. It feels so good to give an unwanted animal a home, and I know this probably sounds silly, but they just seem so grateful and happy that you brought them home.

Congrats on the rescue! Can't wait to see her all fluffed out

Thanks Lucy Me either. I saw a picture of her with her hair longer before they shaved it. I think she is gonna look so cute when it gets long again.

Congratulations! She's a cutie! Welcome to Fishlore, Daisy! Tell your new Mom you want your own fish tank

Thanks BB The fish tanks are the property of my kitty He's to selfish to share those with the dogs

Tony that is too funny! I had no idea. I guess we just both have great taste in names Thanks for the kind words

Thank you Cesch She really is a great dog. She's a little needy, but she's sweet and affectionate which makes giving her constant attention very enjoyable. She loves cuddling with the stuffed animals! Sometimes I do a double take because she blends right in and I don't even realize she's there, lol

Thanks so much It feels good to rescue an animal.

I wish my parents would let me rescue animals in need... they already think I own a farm LOL... just the other day we saw a poor little girl poodle who we almost brought home... :-\

you're a very caring owner, and I hope you're proud of that

Hello MissMTS. What a great rescue! She adorable. I had to look closely at the photo of her on the bed to determine which was real and which was stuffed
Enjoy her company.

What a great addition! I, like most of the people who've responded, can't get over the last picture of her all cuddled up with the stuffed animals! I couldn't really tell how small she was until that. What a cutie!

Awwww, this made me tear up a little She's so beautiful and she looks so happy with her new family. All our babies have been rescue animals and it means so much to me when I see a beautiful animal rescued and placed in a loving new home. Thanks, Kate.

I agree - rescues are the greatest! She is so pretty - I love her color! She really does blend in with the stuffed animals, reminds me a bit of the movie E.T.
All but one of our dogs have been rescues. The one that my parents bought from a breeder was supposed to be a purebreed Keeshond. Turned out his daddy was a black Standard Poodle. So much for being purebred (purebred mutt anyway).

A little "hybrid vigor" eh? heehee Bet that was quite a combination though. What was the coat like?

I call mixed breeds "All Americans".

I called him our "char-broiled, pure bred mutt". As a puppy he was all Keeshond. As he grew up, he kept the coloring, but his coat got wavy/curly and kept growing longer, and longer, and longer, and . . . He was a good dog. The breeder gave us half our money back since he obviously was not pure bred keeshond. Of course, we had all fallen in love by then and would not dream of returning him. The funny part was, he had AKC registration papers and everything. Just goes to show - you never know.

Yup, AKC papers are a guarantee of nothing... it's just a number. Glad the breeder was ethical enough to give you at least some money back (all would have been better) and not blame it on what you were feeding the dog. LOL
