Here is the links to led lighting I am looking to:

This one would be ideal since it perfectly replace stock aqueon light strip

This one has cool features.

What would you guys recommend,It does not have to be specifically these two,I am open to suggestions.

Thank You

I just got the AQUEON LED lights for my 72 gallon bowfront. LOVE it! It came with 1 strip but you can add 2 more on and it also has a blue night light. Very sleek and it sits on top of the glass hood I got.

I like how the LED looks but also its supposed to be so much more efficient than the T8 lights

Also if you plan on LED lights, go with a Versa Glass top for your bowfront. It makes everything seem brighter and its also very sleek. I just got the glass top for my bowfront.

I did not fit on the original hood?

How much is the extra strips?

Do you mind sharing some pictures?

Thank you for your reply!

I just bought the 72 gallon bowfront a few days ago. I just set it up today although I still need to do more things. Not sure if this pictures shows everything or not. Please excuse the aquascaping - it should be done in a few days or so

I don't know how much the extra strips are - I bought the light kit for $75.00

I think the glass top with the LEDS really make a big difference. I have a 36 gallon bowfront and its got the plain black hood and T8 light - definitely a BIG difference!

How is the Aqueon LED for growing plants? I believe if given a choice I would go with the Current USA Satellite Plus for plants.

Sharpie, have you looked at the Finnex Fugeray Planted Plus? It is a real good light.

I have no idea. My T8 was able to grow plants so I would imagine the LED would be that much better?????

Sharpie - look at the Finnex Fugeray Planted Plus or for a little more money look at build my LED. I recommend the 6300 XB series for plants. You will need to dose with Excel or CO2 if budget allows.

I went and bought Coralife aqualight High Output T5 setup with one 10000k 31watt and one Actinic bluelight 31w as well,so in total is 62w for 36G bowfront,is this to low or I am overdoing it? I have 60 days to exchange or return so I said why not to try?

This is the light 30"

The fixture is OK, but the bulbs are wrong. What you need are 6500K T5HO bulbs. You have marine (saltwater) bulbs now.

On second glance, I see that the bulbs are 24Watts a each. I would probably just return it. If you want T5HO - you need something like this:

not sure how wide a 36 gallon bow is, but these GE Starcoat bulbs are good bulbs:

Hmmm, I just did some looking. If the fixture is 24" long then yes the 24" bulb is 24Watts. Sorry man. OK, keep the coralife fixture, but you need bulbs either 6000K, 6500K, or 7000K and the GE bulbs that I pointed out are excellent.

I second the finnex fixture recommendation:

I looked into the Aqueon LED light when I upgraded my goldfish tank, by the time your purchase the extra LED tube strips, you will pay more than buying the Finnex LED fixture. Also, I read some owners of the Aqueon fixture having issues and it failing after one year of purchase due to moisture leeching into the electric connection points where your plug in the extra LED tube strips.

OK, you must have the 30" fixture. I should have read your previous post closer. I am having a tough time finding the right bulbs for that. Still looking.......

OK, I found 6700K T5 bulbs at Petco online:
These will work.

You are awesome! Thanks a bunch Should I keep the 10000k one and just replace the actinic one? Or replace both bulbs with these that you recommended?

They are of no use for Freshwater. Honestly I would try to trade them. If they will not take the bulbs: sell them on Fleabay

Your plants are not used to the amount of light that you are throwing at them now. They are in shock. You are now throwing about 2 watts per gallon, which is low light, but more light than they had previously. I am throwing about 4 Watts per gallon.
Start with about 6-7 hours a day and slowly increase exposure to 9-10 hours per day. Still, some of the foliage may die, but you will get new growth. Remove the old growth so that it doesn't rot. Use some fertilizer, root tabs and liquid, and some CO2 booster.

Disclaimer: I realize that watts per gallon is obsolete. I merely use it as a rule of thumb.

Would you recommend any specific brands for fertilizer ? Or CO2 booster?

Presently I am using AquaFertz and Total substrate pellets from aquarium plants with good results. SeaChem pellets are good too. I use both liquid and tablet.
