New KillI Pics!

Just bought three male Nothobranchius rachoviI for my "delicate fins" community tank to replace my savage dwarf rainbowfish.
going to get some females too, maybe two.

Anything in particular I should know about these?

yes, they're annual killifish, they burrow into the substrate(preferably peat or sand) to lay eggs, which generally hatch once the soil is dried and re-wet, crumpled a little, shaken... then once you've waited a bit, dry out the soil again, repeat the hatching thing, and a few more will hatch...
If/when you add females, add at least 1 per male, or the few in there will be harassed to mate- makes sense, since in their native environment they have 9mo. to grow up and breed until their pond dries up, so breeding is of utmost importance to the males especially.
Cool fish, though!

Well I don't have soil or peat so if they are going to lay eggs it's going to have to be in the gravel. I'm not trying to mate them, just trying to keep them happy.
I'll try to get three females, but I can only get what the breeder will give me!
They remind me of clown fish haha

just so you know, they don't live very long bc in the wild they spawn and lay their eggs in the mud. they only live a year or 2

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have to bring 2 killis back to the store, they ate the tails off all my guppies, males and females, in a day, an now they are fighting with each other. I plan to keep one, see how it goes.
Pretty depressed right now.
