New Information on Availability of VitaChem

There was a report that VitaChem was not going to be available much longer.  I just spoke to the people at Dick Boyd's (Boyd Enterprises, Inc.), the place that produces it and they say that production continues and they have no plans to stop.  They do not however ship or do business with Big Al's and that may be the reason that you were encouraged to try a different brand.  The only place that I know of right now that carries it for sure is Drs. Foster and Smith and I was told that it had been selling so well there that they had just shipped out a great big order to them yesterday.

I am not trying to step on anyones toes as I have shopped at Big Al's but Vita Chem is a staple in my pharmacy and this was important enough to me to go right to the source to find out about.  It is made in Miami, Florida and their phone number is 305-651-2496.  I also invited them to come to the forum and lurk and see what we were about if they wished.  They have helped a lot of our fish and I thought they might like to know it.

Great idea, Rose, and thanks for the info. This is a great product, thanks for turning me onto it when I first started "betta love". Val

Hmmm... so the manager at Big Al's either lied or doesn't know what is going on. They DO sell VitaChem on the Big Al's website so they are not completely correct about not doing business with Big Al's. Since it was on their website I thought they would probably also have it in the stores so I tried to go pick some up. Unfortunately, the $30 shipping fee to Canada from any online site is just too ridiculous for me. I'm sure it's a great product but the Kent Zoe is equally good and since I can just buy it at the store and not pay outrageous shipping fees I think I'll just do that. I'm glad the company that makes VitaChem didn't go out of business though. If I can ever manage to find some at any store that would be great but since I live in Canada and we we never get any of the good stuff that Americans get, I won't hold my breath.
