Welcome Jorge!!!

I can't help with the puffer I'm afraid, just wanted to welcome you to FL!!

On the main page of Fishlore, there's links on the right hand side to all fish types. If you find the puffer profile, you can see what fish are compatible!

Welcome to Fishlore!

From what I know:
Green spottedp uffers are brackish, so they require salt in their water. As they grow the amount of salt they have should be increased and eventually they can become almost full marine. So going by this, I don't think plants will go down too well.
However I am not certain that what I just said is right so feel free to google and double check

Good morning and Welcome to Fish Lore!

Here are 3 links that you may find helpful:

https://www.fishlore.com/aquariummagazine/nov08/greenspottedpuffer.htm
https://www.fishlore.com/aquariumfishforum/threads/general-guide-to-puffer-care.33066/

Personally from information I've read on the species, I recommend a species only tank and only 1 per tank. Hold on for more responses.

Ken

After checking your aquarium profile information, I see that you are not aware of the aquarium nitrogen cycle:
https://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm
This is crucial to fish keeping. Check it out and if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Also having a test kit is crucial. I recommend the API (liquid) Master Test Kit. It will test for everything mentioned in the nitrogen cycle link:

to FL!

sorry I'm not familiar with any puffers as they are banned for sale here is Oz, but as ken suggested, you could have a divided tank with some mollies as they are brackish to!

those guys can get pretty big and need a 30 or so gallon tank. They are very active and contiuously swim the glass if bored. A good way to keep them entertained is to rearange all of the items, maybe not plants, but like rocks decorations and ect... Hope this helps, and welcome to fishlore
