Hey just joined. And lucky me, I'm experiencing my first Ich outbreak, luckily I caught it quickly and haven't lost anyone, treating with Quick Cure, though there are some concerns with that.

I've used the full dose, two days in a row and have noticed a spike in nitrites.
Ammonia was 0, pH stable, temp at 80c. I've heard this stuff basically kills your
biological bacteria..And yeah I removed any carbon/charcoal before using it.

OH and it's mostly a cichlid tank with the exception of my pleco and a green sunfish.

Cheers!

Welcome to Fishlore!

I used Quick Cure to try and solve an ICK problem. My Gouramis and Pleco made it through the meds, but my Mollies did not. The Mollies also had to go through a cycling process though. Most meds stress fish, but I did not notice any change in my water parameters.

Read the link Meenu posted for you. It is very helpful and hopefully you will make it out ok. My on advice is to be patient. Good luck.

Thanks for all the welcomes. Yeah nitrites are still too high for my liking so I've got work to do...But on a positive note, I found 3 Aulonocara jacobfreibergi babies! hah
