Hey guys I am new here! A little background I have not had a fish before at all! My boys and I got Finley the fish last week he is a male twin tail half moon Betta! Now today I came home from work and saw foamy looking clumps of bubbles by the filter and starting in one corner of the tank and was wondering if I am having filter problems or if he is building bubble nests?? I am doing my first partial water change tomorrow!! Any helpful hints would be appreciated as well!!

Id say he’s a happy fish if bubbles aren’t from filter or air stone

So glad that you are getting involved with fishkeeping! I have some tips that aren't criticism, since you are new, and please don't feel bad and feel like you need to change these right away. You have an amazing first tank, mine was just a heated bowl when I started this hobby.
1. If by "boys" you mean your sons, I understand that all of the fun colors make it entertaining to watch. While this is perfectly fine, bettas like neutral colors so it feels like they are in their natural environment, and bright colors might stress them out a bit. My first few years of fishkeeping were full of bright pink gravel and it didn't seem to have any effect on them.
2. The plastic plants can easily tear betta fins, as they are very delicate fish. This is probably the only thing I would really change. If bright colors are still something you want to keep, maybe switch to silk plants? I know live plants aren't for every beginner. They weren't for me.
3. I see you have a hang on the back filter. While this definitely isn't a problem (I have one too), how heavy is the flow? This could stress them too because they come from ponds and rice paddies where the water is still.
Bubble nests are a great sign that your betta is happy and healthy! I wish you the best of luck with your fish. Finley is a pretty one!

The flow is on the lowest setting and he hasn’t seemed bothered by it at all....and I’ve already thought about switching to more silk variety as my sons definitely helped choose some stuff and after doing a bit more research I’m finding these maybe weren’t the best choices for a betta! But I will probably do a gradual change and maybe do half bright and half neutral colors so it’s not too bright maybe idk yet we already have ideas for new things and changing it up a bit! Thanks for the tips FOR SURE do appreciate it!
