NEW GUPPY'S HOPING TO BREED!

I got 2 males (red blue and silver) and 2 females (yellow) to day and I'm hoping to mix the colours together it would be great!! For there fry is a one gallon tank to small to start?

 

that tank should be fine for a while. make sure they get a bigger tank when they grow!

 

you'll want to put them in as large a tank as you can as soon as you can to encourage growth.. that and a lot of partial water changes.

 

guppy's like to top of the water right because my guppys spents most of there time last night at the surface of the water and didnt move they even let me give em a rub down!

 

Guppies sleep at the surface, that is probably why they were so docile. Just a sidenote, I would suggest having trios of guppies when housing males and females together. 1:1 ratio of male to female on livebearers for the most part is a bad thing. Males tend to over aggress the females for sex unless they have multiples to target.

 

I'm going into the city to a petsore that I trust to get 2 male fancy tail guppy's and 2 females!
