New guppy-endler strains (I think???).

Hello Everyone,

I have had japan blue double sword guppies and japan blue endlers in the same tank for like 5 months now and I'm getting some pretty cool-looking hybrids! Looking for anyone that can either put a name on them or help me name them... I am not certain that these aren't previously-bred strains, although I have never seen a fish that looks like them. I am getting one commonly occuring hybrid (or maybe just different pattern, but I think it's a hybrid) and then another pattern that is only in one fish. I believe that the image directly below this sentence is a hybrid. This is the only fish that looks like this.

PA301555.JPGThe image below this sentence is the male Japan blue double sword endler for reference
PA291530.JPGAnd below this sentence is one hybrid that occurs often in the tank. Again, I only think this is a hybrid and I am no expert so I am looking to see if these are truly hybrids.

That's what I think, too. Wondering if anyone has a cool name for these?

Golden Tsunami?
Yes!! That’s so good for the more yellow hybrid.

This is also a very good one for the more bluish hybrids

Congrats! Nice looking strains there! I've been wanting to keep the Japan blue double swords for awhile now. Since I will eventually, i'm pretty happy to see what kind of results happen with these mixed with others.

Thanks! They're really pretty looking, and they aren't fully mature yet. When they get a little bigger, I'll post some more photos, probably in a few weeks.

I guess since this fits the thread title, and not to hijack you at all, I have one for you guys. I had a Full Gold female and a Dumbo Mosaic male that had a few batches of babies about 4ish months ago. Nothing spectacular, except for 2 out of all of them. We kept only those. Someone locally offered me entirely too much money for the parents ($125) and they went to them. They have not been able to achieve even one of these yet either. First is the male, 2nd is the female. We named them 6 spots, but I guess I call them "Dice Guppies".

They are very beautiful. Good job! I hope you continue to breed them. I think people would really want those.

Are you going to breed those two?

That's the plan. She's ready to pop within a week. This will be her 2nd batch. Her first was about a month ago, small batch, and I assume they all got eaten. I woke up, she was deflated (She wasn't very big) and lost her flat stomach. I found no babies, and I even tore the tank apart. I have my plan in place to catch them this time. 2.5 gal isolated tank, ready to go and cycled. Plenty of Naja Grass.

Good plan, I am going to isolate a male endler and a female guppy to get some hybrids and then breed those hybrids. I can't tell when the females are hybrids so it makes it really tough to isolate them. So I first have to hope that both are pure bred and then get some 100% hybrids from them... gonna take a while but I think it's worth the wait.

I actually just checked my grow out tank. I have maybe 4 others that are showing the dice trait. I'm going to empty out that tank (20 gal long) except for the ones showing the trait, and put the other parents in there. This turned out great! I'll post up pics of the juvi's in a little bit.

There are 4. This is how my 2 parent fish looked as Juvi's. Pics aren't great, but you can see they have yellow tails. One's even starting to spot up.

Awesome, can't wait to see them develop. Post updates here later on!

Absolutely! If you aren't local, we'd have to be careful because a lot of packages are being stopped with covid, but I totally would love to work out a trade.

They are very pretty looking. Again, post updates here when they mature! I will do the same as well.

I was thinking of adding 'fire' before torpedo. So fire torpedo endlers. Sounds kinda cool
