new guppies not eating

got two guppies yesterday. They don't seem to be interested in any flake food. Tested h2o at home and at store before purchasing, all #'s where ok.
When I got them home they seemed a little shy and stressed so wated for a few hours and gave just a pinch of flakes. No bites, well bit and spit back out, but other fish in other tank are eating them just fine, so no problems with the flakes.
Tried again this AM, still the same, no bites. However, they seem to be munching on the plants a little here and a little there.
I've read that they can go a week w/o eating, so should I just let them get acclimated and not worry. They seem to be getting more comfortable, little by little. Coming out of their shell so to speak.
Also I've read that some fish like Romain Lettuce, would guppies be one of theese fish?
Should I try a diff type of food? When talking about veggie flakes -- which ones are you talking about, and by what company?
Thanks, Sharon

According to people who have tried Omega One food it is the best so go for that if you can find it otherwise go for the other well-known brands like Tetra or Wardley etc. I use Tetra Veggie flakes and the fish eat them. Guppies like a lot a vegetable matter in their diet which can also be supplemented with frozen /live food such as brineshrimp which may get them to start eating.

they would love romaine lettuce or any type of green leafy plants (generalization)... lettuce and such would be great... they also love bloodworms which can be bought frozen. I'm sure they'll eat after a lil whlile

I think they are just getting used to their new surroundings, and wouldn't worry too much at this point. I am an Omega One fan, so that is what I would recommend for your next can of fish food. Since you have guppies, I would probably recommend the color flakes. I would also recommend the veggie rounds or veggie flakes to give them their veggies.

Yes they will eat romaine lettuce, I found that out when I tried to feed my Otos. : And I wouldn't worry too much about them since they're new. Just let them settle in for a few days. And yes, Omega One is the best if you can find it.

Thanks to all. It was just making me too nervous and while the fish were under warrenty, I just decided to take them back.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. If I have the same problem again I will try all that you've listed.

If you have this problem again, see what foods they've been fed at the store. If they won't eat that for a week it'd be best to return them, because there is obviously something wrong.
