Good afternoon,

I threw out all of my old fish food and replaced it with fresh. When all was said and done, I had a 1 gallon zip lock bag full so I fed the fish in the creek (the creek is tidal). No fishing in front of my house today! My fish are full

New foods:

Treats:
Freeze Dried Superba Krill 1/4 lb
Freeze Dried Earth Worms 1/4 lb

Staple:
Ken's Premium Cichlid Pellets 3.5mm 1/2 lb
Ken's Premium Cat Fish Pellets 1/2 lb
Ken's Earth Worm Sticks 1/2 lb
Ken's Sinking Spirulina Sticks 1/2 lb

Blood Red Parrot Pellets 6.69 oz
Algae Wafers

Replace all foods January 2012.

I plan to go feed the creek by my house soon. I have a TON of flakes and some random pellets that I will never use....

Good for you supporting our natural wildlife and finding a good use for food that would otherwise be thrown in the trash!

Good morning,

For the next Ken's Foods order, I'm trying the following:

Ken's Freeze Dried Meal Worms 1/8lb x 2
Ken's Freeze Dried Red Shrimp 1/8thlb x 2 (says for large fish so it should be a good size, no photo for this one)

Hello,

I placed an order with Ken's yesterday for:

1/8lb Meal Worms (1)
1/8lb Red Shrimp (1)

3.65L Activated Carbon (2). I found Ken's price on this item to be anywhere from $2 to $9 or so cheaper, for the same brand, than some other online shops. Big difference!

Good afternoon,

My shipment of new foods and carbon just arrived. The Meal Worms look great and so do the Red Shrimp. Nice sizes in each.

Tomorrow is treat day, so I'm going to feed the Meal Worms and see if they are a hit or miss. I'm sure they will be a hit.

HI Amanda,
I've been ordering from Ken's for about a year now and I've always been very satisfied with what I've received. I highly recommend them. Fast shipping too!

Thanks Pirahnah3! Something fun to do.

Too, from Ken's, a lot of times they may give you samples or even extra of what you actually ordered. Not always, but sometimes. This time I got 2 1/4 ounce of Meal Worms when I ordered 2oz's. Every little bit helps.

I use Chef's scales to weigh them myself.

Good morning,

The Red Shrimp were also a Big Hit this morning. All of the fish just tore it up!

I was really surprised at the difference between the shrimp and krill when it comes to appearance, size. I'm glad that I now have 2 more varieties of foods for my fish. My fish are happy, so I'm happy too.

Yeah! My new fish foods arrived yesterday.

The KerrI Tetras just went nuts for the Spectrum Thera A Small Fish, (NLS) food. None of it even had a chance to reach the bottom. This is the first time I've used this type/brand of food.

(NLS-New Life Spectrum) Thanks JaySee! (I have seen him mention this brand on numerous occasions).

I'm sure you'll make them all very happy lol! I have yet to order anything from there but I'll likely get my bloodworms from there whenever I run out of the hikari. I'm not extremely impressed by them but I can't see just throwing them out. The fish seem to like them, at any rate.

Back Order:

I'm still waiting on Freeze Dried Whole Earthworms from May 26th order. I received an email yesterday from Ken's that these are still being held at customs. They were kind enough to offer a refund, but I prefer to just wait it out for now. I'm not completely out of worms.

Ken

Edit: The Earthworms never came so I requested and received a refund. I waited long enough.

Ken my fish love the Earthworm sticks. Another one they loved was the Spirulina, garlic, paprika pellets.

Thanks!

Carol, I'll add that one to my list for next time and give it a try. The Earthworm sticks are a big hit for my fish too.

I like to replace my fish foods every 6 months, especially ones that come in sealed baggies. The remaining old food will feed the fish in the creek.

I order the smallest amounts available and there is very little left after 6 months. Right now, I'm just about down to the "fines" of each bag. It worked out good this time.

Wow ken, your fish get a heck of a diet! lol then again Iremember the pic of you feeding them one morning and they were eating better than you were.

ACtually because of this thread I just ordered some of Kens flakes and pellets to try out in my tanks.

Good morning,

Yes, I like to feed a variety of foods to all of my fish The Krill and Shrimp are treats 2 or 3 times a week and the pellets/stick/wafers are all daily foods. Pinch of this and pinch of that, being careful not to over feed.

I didn't order Freeze Dried Whole Earthworms this time. I had such a problem trying to get them the last time, I finally ended up getting a refund. For some reason, they are still listed on the site but the worms are held at the border. At least that is the explanation that I received. Too bad, the fish loved 'em!

New foods arrived yesterday, all but the Freeze Dried Red Shrimp which is on back order.

I was very happy to find the Tetra Veggie/Algae Wafers. The center of the wafer is concentrated algae. The fish love it. I used this a long time ago and I'm glad to be feeding it to my fish once again.
