New Fish!! Can't Tell Type :)

The fish we had reserved got sold to someone else, but this handsome little man forced us to buy him. He looked at me dead on and flared at me for a solid 5 minutes. We've been going to the petshop for three weeks now and while all the other fishies go, he's been there the entire time. No way to know how long he's been sitting there

He looked grey in the unlit tank, but when we got him home he became more vibrant. Can't tell if he'll get more colourful, he's irridescent. Seems silvery grey but depending on the light is pink or turqouise. His tail looks like he may be growing, its transluscent in between webbing. Shop guy told me he was a type of crown tail, but he looks like a veil tail also. Possible combo?

His name is Mr. Grumpy for the flairing and he is a very spunky little guy!

Can you get a picture of him flaring? Can't see the fins clear enough to tell his fin type.

He hasn't flared since we brought him home, but I'll see if I can get some pictures tomorrow. Thanks!

To me, he just looks like a veiltail with some finnage missing - may of been bitten off, or result of finrot.

Okay, this was the best I could do as far as flaring goes!

He looks like a damaged veiltail to me, but he's GORGEOUS and will only get betta with time, lol.

It's hard to tell with so much fin damage but he looks like a veilteil due to the caudal fin curving down at the top, same with the shape of the dorsal fin
