Currently Have an Aqua One Filter H100 and looking to upgrade to one that does about 200Litres a hour mine currently does 100L. My filter is currently a hang on filter but not sure if i should get a submersed filter, another hang on filter or a canister filter. All help is appreciated, thanks.

Hi, was just wondering what size of tank is this going on? If you have the money canisters can't really be beat. Sunsun sells reasonable filters cheap. Otherwise for HOB filters, I always recommend Marineland Emperor or Penguin series! Great media space, patented bio-wheels!

I have no real experience with submersed filters except for sponge filters in my fry tank. Also a canister would be a little much for a 15g tank in my opinion. Your best bet would be to get a HOB probably. Do your fish require lots of current?

    I personally recommend the 150B

No problem! I really like my Emperors I own! Have heard great things about the penguin series too, they are basically the same as the emperors, just minus a spray bar which sprays filtered water onto the bio-wheels.

After years of trying filters, the only filter I put on 10 to 20 gallon tanks now is Finnex PX-360, mini canister filters. It has plenty of room for Purigen or other goodies and totally silent.
