So cyber Monday I took advantage of the nilocg 20% off sale. I bought the pro pps bundel. I am going to do a 75% water change on my main planted tank today.
29 gallon tank plants are in my aquarium details. I will be doing a little scraping and replanting some of the stuff while doing water change. I will get some pics of issues with plants this far and will keep posting updates on how the regiment is going.

Fertilizer in package are as follows:
Macro:
K2so4, kh2po4, kno3, and mgso4
Micros:
Csm+b

Dosing plan is 5ml every other day of micro and macros. Used rotala butterfly for amounts for pro pps.

Pics attached are from the 20 gallon I plan to lower dosage for pics of 29 in a few

Full tank 75% water change. Cut dead parts of plants out replanted. Hopefully they bounce back quick with new fertilizer.

No noticable change in a positive way. Few plants are getting transparent stems. Some are yellowing. I have started growing some algea pic will be attached. I think it's my brain thinking I need more light to help plants bounce back.
Since I'm only doing a pro-pps a 50% change isnt required. I am reading about deficiencies in plants. Most of my issue sound like low nitrogen and potassium. I had 5ppm nitrate yesterday. So I'm going to try less water change do about 30% on water change day. Then I plan to up my macro and micro dosage to 7.5-10ml instead of 5. See if I get a noticeable change next week

Very nice looking tank. Ive never used dry ferts so can't comment on that but being a 29 it is a bit taller so you may need a little more light. I always suggest Nilog Thrive in a planted tank but seeing that you already have the dry ferts it may just be a bit of getting used to the doses you need to add and let them establish.

Ps temp is still 86. So will turn it down over next couple of days no spots on fish. This might help.

Yeah I debated on thrive or dry fertilizer. I figured dry fertilizer I can slowly tweak to the needs of the plants since all is individually packaged. I have a beamswork dafullspec. For my plants even at the height should fall in lower medium light levels. It is rated at around 100 par from 13 inches. Let's say it's about 20. So it isnt the best but these plants should be low light so. One reason I am making this thread to document.

Update. I checked water before water change monday. 0,0,10 so I think I maybe a little lower on dosage. There is still some available nitrates but I'd like to see a little more. I didnt see mich increases even though it's one week.

Decided to up dosage to 10ml each day. I have noticed some new growth on the plants so that's promising. I hope the swords recover some and the holes in the leaves heal up. I dont know if that's possible or if I will have to wait for new growth and remove the damaged leaves?

On that note I decided to add diy co2. Here's a few pictures of the setup. I'm going to use 4 salt and pepper shakers had to silicone them to the suction cups. Super glue didnt hold.

Only 2 stayed on so reapplied it on 2. Then I got a bike tire co2 pump. Attached an air attachment and an air line. Pictured here

I filled the 2 I had up amd they almost depleted in 2.5 hrs. So my matten filter is releasing alot of co2 with surface agitation. But I figure I only need added co2 for the amount that lights are on so I need about 8-9 hrs right? Then plants will release co2 at night. So it might be a daily filling of shakers but that's fine. I would show how it looks but I hatched a little much brine shrimp and they are everywhere. But will show a picture tomorrow. Then maybe try a week of just hob during lights on and turn matten on at night to see if co2 usage is less. Update later!

Ok day 2 filled up shakers again. We are at 5 hours 20 mins and this is where the shakers are.

Not sure if I need 4 but will use them to test for a few weeks. I can say I definitely had low co2 in the tank to think I'm absorbing this much that means for days on end there was little co2 in the tank. Not getting a 1ph drop. But I wonder if this method will drop ph since it is just re adding the missing co,2 as it's used. Or if my filter is releasing it too fast. More to come. Here's whole tank.

I got it from this video. My understanding is that you fill the container with co2. As the co2 is gassed or the plants consume it. The co2 slowly dissolves back into the tank. The shakers I just think will look better than a 20oz or 2 liter. I think my corner filter is releasing alot more than a hob. But I have had these plants with no added co2 and in theory there was no added co2 besides the plants respiration at night. I have plants now growing. The fertilizer is also helping. I didnt test just fertilizer but I have wanted to try this so making a journal to document.

Ok week 3 update. Plants are def growing quickly. Can I say which is the case if it's the fertilizer or added co2. No I cannot but the balance is definitely getting there. I am growing much less algea since I added co2. lights on for 10-11 hrs a day.

Week 4 update:
20200105_140942.jpg

Every thing grows well. The bushes in front are not though. Alot gets wedged lose and floats. Definitely turning a brown. Most likely not enough light.
