New Developements in Ich Outbreak

As some of you may have read had an ich outbreak that wiped out half my fish. 5 survived and are doing very well now, so hopefully the ich is almost gone though I'm still going to treat tank for another week or so. Noticed today one of my blue sunset platies is pregnant. Noticed her getting bigger about a week ago, but just looked like she overall grew, her stomach was not very big. Now her stomach is starting to balloon and a gravid spot is showing up. Is it more than likely most of the fry will die since the tank had ich outbreak earlier this week?

Not necessarily. How are you treating for ICH?

With Nox-Ich drops (blue ink looking product when goes into tank) and also with Maracyn to prevent chances of them catching secondary diseases.

I think they should be ok if those two meds are compatible. Have never used anything except raised temps and water changes for ICH. Keep us posted please.

Oh yes I also have been doing those two, changing about 40% water changes bi-daily and raised temperature to 82-83 degrees.

They should be fine then.

I think they'll be good. If you want to continue putting something in for ich, i'd really recommend the ich-attack as the fry are pretty sensitive to other meds.
