New Cory Death

HI all. So yesterday I picked up three young habrosus cories from a local shop and all little guys appeared well. Just as I was going to bed here I went to check in on them, and to my horror (seriously almost started crying) one of my ghost shrimp was eating a dead little guy. My question is, do you think the ghost shrimp could have killed the cory? I am terrified that I did something to cause their death, I just lost my very loved betta not a little over a week ago. If the ghost shrimp could possibly be the cause I want to get them separated stat
Here are my tank stats:
Ten gallon planted tank
Community tank shared with three sterbaI cories and ghost shrimp
Temp: 76 F
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 35 PPM
Nitrite: 0
I did a 50% water change two days before adding the new fish
The tank has been treated with Lifegaurd all in one treatment about a week ago after the loss of my beta, as I fear his death could have been fungal related.

Thanks in advance!

Correction!
Nitrate is 25ppm (I know this is a bit high)

How did you acclimate them to your tank?

How did you acclimate them to your tank?
I did a one hour acclimation process. 15 minutes floating and then after that added a small amount of tank water every five minutes for the next 45 minutes. Unfortunately this is not the first time that I have lost cories within the first two days

Ph-shock maybe ?
Once I get home today I will be sure to check my Ph. I don't know why I didnt check it. Unfortunately the other two little guys were gone when I got up this morning so I know it wasn't the shrimp that were killing them...I think I am giving up on cories for now. This is the second time I have lost baby cories within a few days of getting them. Which is so disappointing and strange to me, as the first set of cories I had ever gotten as my first fish are all still alive and thriving after almost two years. So bummed
