hi all,

so my wonderful wife has started school for photography and that justifies us to buy a new camera, and after all the research and reading all the review we settled on a Nikon D5000 12.3 MP, about $840 worth of camera stuff , plus a great warranty from best buy, any way i just wanted to share a few unedited and edited photos from this camera, its absolutely the best camera i have ever owned..hoto:
i hope you enjoy the first photos of this amazing camera, and i will be using it alot, so expect better and better s soon

Woot! Hubby and I love our Nikon D40. Only 6 MP, but certainly lots of options for lenses.

Best of luck with your new cam (I LOVE Nikon, personally), and let's see some MACROS! ;D

thanks guys, im still getting used to it, all the settings are very intimidating but i think if i use it enough it will be second nature in no time , i want to get a micro lens but they run about 400, that a little steep, maybe in the future though

Great photos & congrats on the new toy.

Macro is a setting on most cameras that allows you to take close up photos while not losing any clarity. I believe the D5000 does have a macro mode so all you need to do is work out where it is. Usually macro is represented by a small icon that looks like a flower. Once you find it & work out how to switch macro mode on you wll be able to take some great close ups of your fish.
