She's a true Calico , white all in the front. We have one now and I had one when I was a kid. We always joke that she thinks she better then the other cats in our house because she has three colors ! She certainly acts that way. Congrats they are a great breed , she is too cute !

Those are great pictures. I am glad to know that you are not one of those people that feel that cats need to be locked up all the time in a house for their own protection. It is like the Betta in a bowl. It is a quality of life issue, not a safety issue.

Cats can actually be very bad for local ecosystems. They are destroyers of small animal populations.

your cat is very beautiful,I love the picture of the dragon Beardie ,how long have you had them together .If it was my cat she will attack the Reptile. But who knows my cat lost a fight with oscar.Or maybe your dragon Beardie can breath fire and toast my cat >_0____jk_________ ok I think its good to let cat out side,There animal and need to be free for a bit .Not saying indoor cats are bad.I think cats can protect there self on a animal who is at the same size,One time my not very smart cat try to attack a raccoon..That was bad,she won that battle but soon later what comes around goes around ,the mother raccoon few month later ,and her kids made my cat ran up a 3 ft oak tree 0-0 don't ever call the fire apparent, there not going to help, its a 3 ft oak with wire .stil not going to help me my cat had to stay all night till we got a guy we have to pay..to get her down not very cheep

Cats can actually be very bad for local ecosystems. They are destroyers of small animal populations. We the people are worst then cats

Beautiful furry Calico is one of the few colours of cat I haven't owned yet... must see to that oversight at some point

As far as the ecosystem thing goes, I have to agree. We humans are the worst offenders for that, so it strikes me as a bit hypocritical.

We have made things worse by unleashing invasive species all over the planet. Wouldn't it be a step in the right direction if humans stopped doing that?

And red tabbies are generally (if not always) male.

The male tortoiseshell cats (or "calico" in basic terms) that are around are usually (if not always) sterile.

*edit* Forgot to say -- she is definitely adorable! Congrats on the new addition.

Sunshine and Beardie have been together since they were young. He's 2 years old and we have had her for 3 years. We have another cat who is 4 that could care less about him. Now we added 2 kittens - brothers - who follow him around. However he does not like them at all - if he see's them coming near him he charges them and chases them until they run away. The Calico can be around him anytime though and she loves feeding time when I give him crickets.

In regards to outside cats - I don't think the mole or chipmunk population is in danger of being extinct. Very rarely they can get a bird. It's natural section - they are part of the chain too. Only scary part is the danger of them getting killed by a Fishercat or fox etc.. or hit by a car. This is a choice you make when you decide to let your cat out and it's a personal choice. We believe they have a happier life outside - our oldest outdoor cat just pasted last winter being over 20 years old. I can see in some places where it would not be safe to let them outside and I understand that too.

oh what a cutie, she is gonna be a ham for the camera for sure!

lol that cat/reptile relationship is kinda funny. they are usually on diff planes of the food chain so its interesting to see them interact like that. Either that or the cat is getting him fattened up for later lol.
