New Boy!

He is really nice, a little shy right now, and somewhat injured. He has had some finrot (what can you expect for being kept in a vase?), but he is showing new growth in his fins which is very good. I have a cycled ten gallon waiting for him at home, so hopefully that environment will allow him to develop his real finnage nicely. (He is supposed to be a half moon, but we will see.) He is a bi-color (maybe a mustard gas?), but I have pictures so you can decide that. I haven't gotten him to flare yet, but he did at the store when I was watching him, so he is at least a super delta.

I do to, you can see the new, paler, growth in his fins!

He's adorable! I would consider him a mustard gas. Does he have a name yet?

He doesn't yet, right now I am calling him Fish, I'm excited to see him when he fins are all healed though. He is a little unhappy right now and a little scared still, but I can understand that because he is in a new place and with a person that keeps staring at him and trying to feed him lol. Right now he mostly is hiding in the dwarf lily he has with him, which I know it makes him more comfortable. (Is mustard gas green-blue with orange fins or what?)

Edit: If he has a black edging to his fins when he grows them out (butterfly) he would be considered a mustard gas.

I thought he was a plakat! Now that I'm looking closer I'm realizing he's a halfmoon like you said... Poor thing really does have some bad finrot.
If he has the black edging he would be a MG, if not a blue\yellow bI color.

No I actually got to see him before he was damaged so. So I know what he can be, and that he was in bad straits for a while to get to this state.

He is loving his tank! He doesn't seem to like the ramshorn snails though (he made no advances towards the mystery that was right by him).

He has done really well, his fins have really started coming in! I do not have a picture of his progress just yet, but I will get one - they are at least twice the size of what they were in the above pictures. He isn't perfect, his fins are a little too long and a touch uneven, but he is a lively bundle lol. Still disagrees with the ramshorn snails.

I got pictures of him! I had to switch his tank to another one, which he seems to like this one better (doesn't mind the big snails and seems a lot calmer). Sadly my little Jon passed away while I was at work (she was ill but it still makes me a little sad that I couldn't do anything for her..)

image.jpg He refuses to sit still for very long though.....

image.jpg his fins are coming along nicely - they aren't done healing and I worry he will have too much fins but there is nothing I can really do about that.
Right now he looks like he will just be a bi-color, but his is still a pretty boy. I'm excited how well he is doing because he seems to be adjusting well to his new tank and healing up.
I will most likely put him up for adoption, because, while he is gorgeous/will be, other than healing him up and getting him adjusted to life with people (after being in a store), I just don't feel I can give him enough interaction to keep him happy for his life.

He is looking brilliant.
