Ah, Dino, are you going to make me buy a new tank??? Or aren't you going to sell them?
Rose
Yep.
I am hoping to have fry by years end.
Tom, Thanks a ton for the offer, but we've bred bettas in the past and have a pretty good handle on it. It would only waste your friend's time.
The fish still look incredibly awesome, but I am a bit disappointed in the seller. He either doctors the picture used on aquabid or it was not a picture of the same fish. I understand color changes when a fish is stressed, but the body coloration even when the male is calm is nowhere near as black as the picture showed. I doubt if we buy from the gentleman again, but here are some pics.
That's the male of course. Again, very beautiful fish, but not what was in the picture on the auction.
Female betta.
The male is a bit darker in the tank, he got more stressed than the female did when put in the isolation cup for the picture.
LoL this fish hobby is contagious isn't itVery, very beautiful fish. My wife is now torn between getting another deep red betta or trying to get our hands on one of the black ones.

So many fish: So few tanks

CWC is working hard to get babies out of the trio.
We hope to report fry very soon.
If I could only have ONE Male I would be oh so blissfully happy.....:;a2. May have to mortgage the house for a new room to put it in to though...

...and all those wanted guest understood then we hung around in the kitchenYou get to have all your fish, and never have to worry about unwanted guests hanging around. Win/win situation!

My brother in law, who's desperately sensible, was really disgusted. He left our living room and his only comment was: 'This is like a fishstore. Ridiculous!'.
Did someone mention unwanted guests?

We've got four tanks around here (the parents only know about three, the fourth is in the bedroom, and since they think we're nuts just having
Keep us posted on how their progressing pleaseWe setup two separate 3 gallon clear plastic containers yesterday for the male and one of the two females. They have darkened up, btw, the guy obviously used tranquilizer without informing us. The picture was still doctored, but the fish are looking worlds better, and we will get pictures soon, but back to my point. Within 3-5 minutes of being in side-by-side containers the female started dropping eggs and the male has started a bubblenest, both being awesome signs of fertility. Within a week's time the female should be ready again and we should have no problem having babies within a week or two.
I would say there is a marked improvement between the female then
and the female now
