New bettas, swordtail, and guppy fries in one day!!

Hello everyone last week monday morning I woke up to feed my fishes and found that my betta fished had mated and there was over 50 new baby fries. Then I noticed that my pregnant guppy and swordtail also gave birth. They are all now one week and 3 days old. the guppies and swordtail fry eats the flakes when I mix it into water and feed it to them; but the betta fries are so small, what can I feed them????

I am open to any sensible suggestions, they are swimming straight and exploring I can also see small fins. I believe that they should be ready to eat now but what can I feed them?

 

Hello! Congrats on the new fry. Are the bettas in the same tank? Both the male and female with the other fish?

Male and female betta should never be kept together unless you're purposely breeding them. And neither should be in a community tank or else some of your other fish
may end up dead.

Small fry can be fed hard boiled egg yolk mixed with a bit of tank water.

 

thank you, and no I removed the female betta from the male after I realized that there were eggs in the bubbles. the guppy and swordtail frys are in a bucket at the moment as the bigger fishes chase them to eat them. the male betta is always kept by alone has he likes his space.

Great. Just had to ask. With fry that young egg yolk and crushed up flakes usually work. If you throw some plants or moss into the bucket, they'll pick at them as well. Good luck with your fry!

 

Thank you so much, the moss is working wonders. my betta frys seem so happy now. and it helps to clean the water with the other live plants
