New betta tank setup journal

Today my 3 year old betta Blu past away overnight I'm sure going to miss him

my husband and I are both fond of betta's and want to get a upgraded and betta optimal set up

1. Looking for the best 5-10 gallon tank with either included filtration or the best betta filtration if not going with a kit type system

I am looking at the fluval flex 9 as I currently have a small community in the 15 gal version, and plan to use the sponge mod on it for slower flow
Also Looking for other tank recommendations that might be better

2. Looking for a heater that will work for either the fluval flex 9 or whatever tank we decide is better

3. plants and natural decor

Looking for low light easy plant options including a carpeting plant, I also want options for natural decor (thinking of soaking driftwood) Also probably going to get a floating betta log and some catappa leaves

And what size lid..

What filter and heater should I get?

Cool! Sorry to hear about Blu, RIP.

Everything is looking good so far, I'm assuming you know all about the nitrogen cycle? For heaters, 50 watts is enough for a 10 gallon. Aqueons and Fluvals work well. What plants do you have in there? Substrate?

Currently have the aqueon preset 50w though i may replace it eventually,
substrate fluval plant and shrimp 8.8 lb with some seachem flourish root tabs,
with a 10-30 fluval hob and
i put a few aqueon pure live bacteria balls,
I have 2 anubias petite, lindernia rotun, eriocaulon cinereum, and buce sp green hopefully they all live

Nice! I agree with eventually replacing the heater, as preset heaters can sometimes not work great.
And one more thing, are the bacteria balls going to be the only things you're going to use to cycle?

I was struggling finding a 50 w heater that had good reviews and wouldnt be overkill for the 10 gallon
