New betta, tank build, and help with identification.

my amazing wild type plakat betta Athena sadly passed away yesterday due to getting stuck in the filter, I was going to my lps to get a tester kit and also ended up getting a amazon sword plant and new betta! I was not planning on one so soon but she is some sort of wild type (my favourite) and has amazing colours and I have the room now so she came home with me. after acclimating her to a quarantine tank I noticed she seems to have a mild fungal infection on her ventral fins so hopefully it clears up okay. she otherwise seems great though so I am not too worried.

I also need to do a re-build on her new tank she will be sharing with star. I will probable divide it this time as the new betta is on the smaller side and might get picked on.

here is the before picture of the tank and I will update in a few weeks once tank is done and the new betta has moved in.

25D17190-0DA4-450F-A4CE-AEBBB1AD544E.jpegit looks WAY to fake for me right now and I would like to switch out for some live plants and clean out the algae. I have a carpeting plant in there marsila I think? but it is SUPER slow at spreading.

I will also get a picture of the new betta and would love some help figuring what kind kind she is. name suggestions are also welcome but I would like to name her something to do with Athena I was thinking maybe annabeth? she is in a book Athenas daughter.

oh, and I forgot to mention the tank is 10 gallons

Wow, beautiful girl! I've had Wild Types before (I actually have one now), and they are my favorite!

Also, gotta say how happy I am about seeing someone giving love to the females! Their personalities are incredible, colors and fins are amazing in my opinion! Good on you!

Sadly, "wild types" are usually just seen as that and don't often have a name for each color or pattern, but what I can say is that there's a very good chance she's a hybrid of splendens and imbellis! The reason I say this is because of her coloration, patterning, tail type (SD), and her being a spoonhead which is basically only seen in poorly bred splendens.

I am really happy with how the tank looks! I still kept the rocks are the main part of the scape but added in the amazon sword plant cleaned up the floaters and carpeting plant a bit. I had to keep my fake lizards tail plant though as there is not enough plants on the one half yet.

got some pictures!
what plants do you think would do good in there? I don't have any fertilizers right now so would prefer one that does not require it. and I would love to hear if you have any suggestions on how to improve the scape!

do you think she would be okay to go in the tank after only a week of quarantine? her infection has been gone for a day now and she otherwise looks heathy....
