I’m in heaven just thinking about..22!

His oldest one just turned five in May. Vet says he’s too mean to die. Lol. He’s got an Oscar to pick up this evening. People renting an apartment moved out and left him. In sad shape.

image.jpg So y’all know I’m getting a new betta. Been trying to get a tank set up for him but just remembered I had this. So added a fake plant and a fancy toy. What y’all think? Haven’t changed the water in, oh, six months?

Really stinks but should be ok. Good thing they can breathe air. Hubby says little white worms on glass. Instant fish food! I’m ready!

You've basically got a moss ball substrate lol. Has it got all the stuff (filter, heater etc.)?

Oh no. Just an old oversized goblet. Holds about a quart and a half? Maybe. Who knows. I just had it stuck in a corner. Hate those stupid balls.

Y’all do know I was just kidding right?

You could put some daphnia in that tank.

so there was a tank (yes, not cups) oh baby bettas at my petco! they were a surrender from someone, so the $2 was a donation to store not an actually purchase you could say. anyway, i'm cycling three tanks, but I do have a qt tank I will keep him in until I can move him into 10 gallon divided tank. what meds should I use for qt? I have had 3 rescues but I never medicated them, but he was sporadic in the tank, and he looks iridescent, kinda gold, so can I treat him for some prevention or if he has anything? what meds? he will be getting daily changes in his tank, bloodworms, and bug bites. spoiled boy!

his name is mystery since it could be a girl or boy, don't know his tail type, or coloring!
Look for a white spot by the poop shoot for a white dots that looks like ick. If you betta has this it's a girl, if not it's a boy.

I would get almond leaves. They have are extremely good for your bettas they have lots of natural medicines any antibacterials that help your fish as the leaf breaks down. I also put just a touch of freshwater salt in their waters. This has helped every rescued betta fish I have gotten. I have 7 right now. All in divided tanks and two wild simorum bettas which have their own tanks. Good luck

Salt has been my go to aid for so many things! I totally agree. Thank you for reminding me to put an almond leaf in my bettas tank. He’s arriving today! Whoo Hoo!
I have marimo balls in a vase I keep forgetting about. They had worms. I dumped the water outside, added water with a cup of aquarium salt dissolved in it. Let them sit for hours (forgot them) then gave them a short rinse. They’re doing much better and no worms.
